Under the agreement, Vietjet and Lao Airlines, the national airline of Laos, have become comprehensive partners in passenger and cargo transportation. Both airlines will also expand cooperation in technical fields, aircraft maintenance and repair, aviation workforce training, and more.
To meet the travel needs of people and tourists, Vietjet will also open a brand new service connecting Vientiane, Laos, with Ho Chi Minh City, the leading economic and cultural center of Vietnam, starting February 2024. The new route is expected to operate four weekly return flights, with a flight time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes per leg.
Vientiane is the capital and largest city, as well as the political and economic center of Laos. It is located on the banks of the Mekong River, offering a picturesque and ancient beauty of the Indochinese region. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s and a regional prominent economic, cultural, and tourist center. It boasts unique cultural features, a vibrant modern lifestyle, while offering seamless connectivity to a plethora of destinations within Vietnam and internationally.
Vietjet’s new route is expected to contribute to the promotion of trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries, creating further fruitful outcomes in the longstanding cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos. It not only connects Ho Chi Minh City with the capital city Vientiane and other localities in Laos but also extends further with Vietjet's extensive flight network covering Vietnam, Australia, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and more.
